Rainforest protection
The Rainforest Foundation has helped protect 28 million acres of rainforest. We have helped indigenous communities secure legal rights to over 28 million acres of their ancestral lands. With secure land rights, these local communities are now empowered to protect, defend and manage their forests for the long term. Research from across the world shows that forests managed by local communities have the lowest rates of deforestation.
